Mission
The International Association for Organ Donation works to educate
and promote the importance of organ and tissue donation. The
organization executes public outreach programs and distributes
educational materials targeted at ethnically diverse communities
locally and abroad in order to attract additional donors to the
registry. In an effort to eliminate the waitlist, the organization
also strives to create innovative methods of decreasing cases of
organ failure due to preventable causes and provides assistance to
donor/recipient families.
Vision
We see a world where those who need an organ transplant have ready
access to organs, tissue, or bone marrow.
We see a world where willing organ donors are available to meet the
need for transplantation of organs, tissues, or bone marrow.
We see a united community that understands the special needs of
racial and ethnic minorities for organ transplants and supports
broad-based educational efforts to ensure the health of the entire
community.
We see aggressive educational initiatives by the IAOD securing deep
understanding of the need for organ donors by the general population
coupled with a willingness to become organ donors.
